A collection of uplifting classical-style music scores

David Cuff's Music catalogue

David Cuff has published eleven original compositions on Musicaneo.

Originally from the UK, I moved to Western Australia in 2006; I composed these works in Perth from 2016 onwards.  Nine of them lie within my overall theme of writing happy, uplifting music, to try and bring some cheer to an often depressing world. I mostly compose for solo piano, sometimes with accompanying instruments, and these are the nine released so far.

One work, 16 Million Souls, is different. The title reflects the (estimated) number of people who died in the two world wars of the twentieth century. I composed the piece amidst the various recent centennial anniversaries of the first war. At its beginning, the music reflects on several military themes and the sounds of guns and explosions typical of warfare. As it develops, it reminds us that many of those who survived service on the Front (including my grandfather, who spent most of WWI as a stretcher-bearer picking up bodies, seriously wounded men and body parts) had their daily lives regularly interrupted by mental flashbacks and trauma resulting from their embedded and un-erasable memories. This piece is offered free, but if it is felt good enough to perform then a donation to your local veterans' charity could be appropriate.

I've also recently written a novel; it's a science fiction adventure packed with mystery, romance and action, with several twists and turns in the plot. I have also penned some short stories.
